Summer Chess Camp - August 3rd - 5th
The CCVT will have a chess camp for K-8th graders in the Brush Mountain Rooms in Squires Student Center. The camp will be from 9 am - 12 pm on the 3rd and 4th and from 9 - 1 on the 5th. There is a suggested donation of $15 per day for each participant.

2nd annual VT Spring Open - Saturday, March 28th
The CCVT will be hosting an adult and scholastic tournament on March 28th in Squires Student Center on the VT campus. Please see our flyer or webpage for more information.
1/19/09 - Spring Semester Meetings
Meetings for the Spring semester will be held every Wednesday that classes are in session starting on January 28th. Meetings will be from 7 - 10 PM in the upper floor of the Johnston Student Center on campus.
12/8/09 - No meetings over winter break
Over Winter break the chess club will not be meeting. We will resume meetings in either the first or second week of classes in January. The Blacksburg Public Library will have chess club on Sunday, Dec. 14th from 2 - 3:30.
10/26/08 - 2nd annual Hokie Memorial Tournament
The 2nd annual Hokie Memorial Tournament will take place on Sunday, Nov. 16th in the Squires Student Center in rooms 341 & 345. Please see the Hokie Memorial Page for more information and to pre-register.

10/13/08 - New Chess Calendar
You can now view all of the local chess events on our new Calendar. Meetings, Tournaments, and various other things will be displayed there. Also, on the calendar you can find the meeting dates and times for the Chess program at the Blacksburg Public Library.
10/2/08 - Texas Tech Challenge
Texas Tech Chess Club has challenged the CCVT to an online 1 round match. The VT Team will be Justin Burgess, Chenlin Zhao, Derek O’Dell, Tyler Hengy, Charles WallAlternates: John Wells and Sandip Kar
Fall 2008 Chess Club Meetings
The CCVT will meet every Wednesday from 7-10 PM starting September 3rd. At the first meeting of the semester we will nominate officers for the 2008-09 school year (see below for a list of officer responsibilities). Voting will take place online between Sept. 4th - 9th. If you would like to run for an officer position and cannot attend the first meeting, then please email Derek . Open officer positions include VP, Treasurer, Secretary/marketing and Webmaster.
Chess Camp
The CCVT will be hosting a chess camp designed for Elementary and Middle schoolers with player abilities ranging from just past beginner to advanced. The camp will take place on Wednesday, August 6th - Friday, August 8th. The camp will begin each day at 9:30am and last until 12pm on Wed. & Thurs. and 1pm on Friday. This will be the CCVT's big fundraiser, so there will be a suggested donation of $15 for each day attended. The camp will be held on the VT campus in Squires Student Center in Brush Mountain Rooms A&B.
