Memorial Chess Open
|
About the Hokie Memorial Tournament The Hokie Memorial Tournament was created following the tragedy that occurred at Virginia Tech on April 16th, 2007 that took the innocent lives of our classmates and professors and shocked this campus. The Chess Club at Virginia Tech (CCVT) felt as though we needed to do something to help those affected. The 3rd annual Hokie Memorial will help support the Ryan Christopher Clark Memorial Fund. To learn more about Ryan "Stack" Clark please visit Virginia Tech's Biography Page. The 1st Hokie Memorial Tournament helped raise over $1500 that went towards the Hokie Spirit Memorial Fund. The 2nd Hokie Memorial Tournament raised $300 for the Jamie Bishop Memorial Scholarship. To learn more about the shooting victims please visit Virginia Tech's Memorial Page. |
